5-Hydroxytetracycline 6,12-hemiacetal 12-phosphite was dehydrated by P2O5 to give 6-deoxy-6-demethyl-6-methylene-5-hydroxytetracycline polymetaphosphate. Similarly prepd. was 11a-chloro-6-deoxy-6-demethyl-6-methylene-5-hydroxytetracycline metaphosphate.
