This work was focused on the analyses of pharmaceutical excipients and active pharmaceutical ingredients by a ring shear tester (RST-XS.s) using different shear and wall friction cells at different stresses. The work aimed at developing a methodology to obtain accurate predictions of powder flow through hoppers with different dimensions. In detail, the yield locus and the wall yield locus data obtained for different materials were treated mathematically and data was validated by discharging the powders through hoppers with different wall angles.
