Filipe Gaspar
Chief Technology OfficerFilipe has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham in the UK.
Filipe joined Hovione in 2003 as an Associate Engineer within the Manufacturing team. After that, he headed the R&D Particle Design group and in 2012 moved to the United States as Senior Director of Particle Engineering Services, part of the Sales team. From 2014 Filipe become the Vice President of R&D and from 2019 took leadership of both R&D and Digital teams.
Filipe is Chief Technology Officer.

Led Hovione’s RD Particle Design group between 2006 and 2012 and was involved in +120 projects. Lead Scientist in four projects that reached commercial stage, including the first at Hovione submitted under QbD.
In 2012 he became the Director of Drug Product Technologies with responsibility for selection and implementation of new technologies.
Since August 2013 he is the business leader for Particle Engineering Services.
His areas of interest include Particle Engineering, Quality by Design, Industrial Marketing and Business Development.
