GSK filed several product, process and composition patents protecting Fluticasone propionate drug substance and drug product.

In this section the patent situation of the drug substance in Europe and in USA is summarized. A brief summary on the formulation patents situation is also presented.

Hovione’s process patent, WO 2002/100878 (EP 1,395,603, US 6,528,666), - “Preparation of Flumethasone and its 17-carboxyl androsten analogue” is also presented.
