The Loughbeg site is a Pfizer API production plant.  Hovione has agreed with Pfizer to buy this plant, the deal closes in April 2009.  Jennifer Quinn, Site Leader, will be supporting the Transition Team.

The facility was transfered to Hovione in April 2009. It will continue to provide Pfizer with manufacturing services but will also produce products for other Hovione customers. The focus of the plant will be Contract Manufacturing.

The site has excellent Safety and Quality systems and is ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO393 accredited, and the workforce is highly trained and innovative.

It has been regularly inspected by Irish and International regulatory agencies, the last inspection having been by the IMB in October 2007.

The plant has 427 m3 of general purpose organic synthesis capacity and a commercial scale spray drying facility.

The combination of Hovione's 50 years of experience in API and contract manufacturing allied with the capabilities of the existing plant and compliance tradition of the Cork colleagues are a winning combination.
